THE VIRGINIA TECH NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF AEROSPACE FACILITY

Concord Eastridge was selected by Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) as Master Developer of the Virginia Tech National Institute of Aerospace Facility.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Concord Eastridge was selected by the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) as Master Developer of the Virginia Tech National Institute of Aerospace Facility. This solicited PPEA is structured to result in a true Public/Private Partnership that has delivered to the University a highly specialized facility consisting of academic, academic research, and research spaces in a risk-free process that optimizes the funding received from the State of Virginia.

The project is located in the Hampton Roads Center, a research park development directly adjacent to Langley Air Force Base. Our diverse and experienced Development Team has built the facility to differentiate itself from the rather moderate facilities that have been developed in Hampton Roads Center. The building is a 60,000 SF research and academic building, consisting of two floors of Research Lab spaces and associated support offices, with one floor containing academic offices for Virginia Tech, a business incubator facility, and NIA offices. The Development Team was able to deliver this high-quality building for approximately $170 / SF. The facility is designed to a LEED Silver level.

The project officially opened in March of 2012.
